On Thursday Pop came up to London for a day, both of us already feeling the pressure of how close we are to Christmas, we intended on a day full of Christmas shopping – but as usual found ourselves planning our day around our stomachs. I’m sure I’ve touched on my love for food a fair few times, but just the thought of this place makes me start salivating. Having lived in London for a few years now, I hadn’t actually been to Borough Market until about 12 months ago, but now I’m a regular! It’s a great place to grab a bite to eat; the atmosphere is always great, but this time of year its even better, the christmas tree is up and theres wreaths and garlands everywhere. We did the usual, walked round both parts of the market, sampling all kinds of cheese and chutneys, building our appetites and sussing out what would be the best option for lunch. I went for a scotch-egg with rocket and sweet potato fries (which completely hit the spot), and Pop went for her usual veggie burger (which looked insane). After filling our stomachs we did actually get round to a bit of present shopping – my family are all getting a variety of edible treats for christmas this year.
