Anderson & Co is a small café on Bellenden Road in Peckham, just a short walk away from the Rye Station. Living round the corner, me & B go a lot – as in every other week, it’s our go to place for a nice and easy breakie. The menu’s pretty straight forward, we tend to always go for the poached eggs on toast and then add on loads of extras – avocado, bacon, black-pudding sausages and tomato, sometimes even more. Always make sure you ask for ice in your orange juice, as its freshly squeezed, which tastes amazing but it’s not usually chilled. Not only are the breakfasts great, but they also have a variety of amazing looking cakes, salads and sandwiches; if you manage to get there early enough, they sell loaves of freshly baked bread in the mornings.
We always aim for a table out the back, in the garden-cum-conservatory, and be it sunny or chucking it down the atmosphere is always great – it’s an easy please for when we have friends and family down visiting. Bellenden Road itself is a great place for a Sunday stroll; you have the General Store and Payless, which between them have a pretty great selection of groceries, Trio another café, two pubs and a couple of restaurants – check it out.
